Magic doesn’t always arrive with a grand entrance. Sometimes, it’s small enough to fit in the palm of your hand.
At every event, we meet hundreds of people, families, children, and travelers who stop by the Humphrey Honey Bunny Farm Traveling Petting Zoo to laugh and enjoy moments with the animals. Each one leaves a small mark, but every now and then, someone leaves something that changes everything.
The magic of the Hollow doesn’t appear out of nowhere; it comes from real moments like these, moments born from kindness, imagination, and the connections we make out there in the world.
This story begins at Trask Family Farms, on a sunlit afternoon filled with laughter and the sound of Whimsey the Wheel spinning under a mushroom shaped canopy. A young traveler approached, spun the wheel, and claimed her prize.vIt could have ended there, just another bright moment in a day full of joy.
But then, she came back.
In her hand was a tiny golden rhino.
“Here,” she said. “Put this with your tokens.”
It was small, simple, and yet in that instant, something in the Hollow stirred, as if something extraordinary had just happened, because it did.
And so began The Tale of Rynari, the Golden Rhino.

✨ The Hollow’s Version
No one knew her name that day, the little traveler with wonder in her eyes and courage in her pockets. She came to the Hollow by chance, following laughter and the whispering creak of Whimsey the Wheel.
Around her, colors spun like a dream, prizes shimmered, bells chimed, and the tokens of the realm gleamed in the Jar of Wonder. She reached up to spin the wheel, and it sang as it turned.
Clack, clack, clack!
It slowed.
It stopped.
And a prize was hers, a treasure of the Hollow, given by chance, received with joy.
As the moment passed, the traveler lingered. Quietly, she reached into her pocket and drew forth a tiny rhino. It caught the sunlight, plain to any other eye, but to the Hollow, it shone with quiet promise.
She returned to the Realm Keeper, her voice small but steady.
“Here,” she said. “Put this with your tokens.”
The Realm Keeper paused. In that instant, the world seemed to hush, even Whimsey’s wheel grew still. The rhino was light in her palm, yet it pulsed with warmth, as if it carried a heartbeat not its own.
The Hollow stirred.
The grass sighed. The air shimmered, and from the place where kindness met magic, light unfurled like dawn breaking.
The little rhino glowed, gold spilling from within like molten sunlight. When the light faded, a creature stood upon the Keeper’s table, small, radiant, and very much alive.
A rhino of golden hue, its hide glittering like dusted stars.
Whimsey bowed his spokes with reverence.
The Realm Keeper whispered, “Rynari.”
From that moment on, the Hollow whispered the tale of the traveler who gave without reason, and the rhino born from kindness.
They say Rynari still roams the Hollow’s edge, where magic and generosity meet.
When a traveler gives freely, without asking, a golden glimmer can sometimes be seen among the trees…a gentle reminder that the smallest acts can awaken the greatest wonders.

🕯️ Keeper’s Note
The real Rynari still rests safely among my tokens, a small, shining rhino given by a little girl whose name I never learned. She’ll never know the magic she set into motion, but her kindness will live on in the Hollow forever.
Some people bring coins. Others bring smiles.
But that day, a child brought a spark of pure magic, a reminder that the work we do isn’t just about animals or prizes. It’s about connection, imagination, and those moments that remind us: the world still has wonder in it.
