Long ago, before the Hollow found its rhythm of light and mystery, there lived a pig who could not stay still. Dumbledore was his name, a gray and white blur of mischief, wit, and wonder.
He was born on the same dawn as his brother Snape, when the fog was thick enough to hide a secret and the sun was only a rumor.
Even as piglets, Snape would stare into the mist as if he could see what others could not, while Dumbledore would vanish into it entirely.
No fence could hold him.
No lock could stop him.
If there was a gap, a glimmer, or even the whisper of a door, poof, Dumbledore was gone.
The GateKeeper would search high and low, calling his name through the twisting paths of the Hollow, only to find him moments later standing exactly where he swore he hadn’t been, brushing a bit of dust from his cloak with that knowing little grin. Some said he moved faster than sight; others swore he slipped between moments themselves.
But mischief fades into wisdom when the Hollow calls, and the day it did, Dumbledore stopped running away and began to learn how disappear With a purpose.
Now, he no longer vanishes out of boredom or play. He vanishes when the balance trembles, when fear swells too large, or sadness lingers too long.
In the blink of an eye, he steps between what is seen and what is felt, mending what is broken in the quiet places only magic can reach.
Then, just as swiftly, he returns.
Right before your eyes, as if he never left at all.
In the tales of the Hollow, they say he carries a golden key, one that catches the light in ways no mortal metal can. It's said to unlock the spaces between, places where hope hides and magic breathes.
If you’re lucky enough to discover one of Dumbledore’s golden keys in our world, keep it close. For just like Dumbledore himself, it may vanish the moment you blink…or reward you for believing in what you cannot see.
Some say the key was forged from the breath between heartbeats.
Others say he simply knows the secret that all wise souls eventually learn:
That sometimes, to truly be there for others…
you must first learn how to disappear.
And though he and Snape walk separate paths, one guided by foresight, the other by the unseen, their gifts are bound by something deeper than magic.
When Dumbledore vanishes, Snape feels it in the hollow of his heart; and when Snape peers into the threads of fate, Dumbledore is often standing quietly on the other side.
Two brothers.
Two halves of the same spell.
Each watching over the Hollow in their own mysterious way.
